Videographer & Editor
To be successful in this role, you must possess technical videography skills, proficiency in editing software, and abilities in color correction, audio mixing, and special effects. Key attributes include strong storytelling, excellent communication, and a rich portfolio showcasing high-quality video content. Previous experience in a similar role is highly desirable. This is a full-time, in-house position only.
Responsibilities
- Capture videos on set and on location.
- Have proficient knowledge in operating video equipment and ensure that is it present and working for shoots.
- Work with other teammates and crew members as needed in order to complete shoots.
- Collaborate with Creative Directors and/or Art Directors to establish the desired feel and look for video content.
- Gather and transfer all forms of media into editing software and ensure each is saved in the correct format.
- Operate computer editing systems and equipment used for video media and effects.
- Help establish a clear understanding of the storyline and purpose of the video’s creation.
- Create proposed storyboard drafts of videos to present to clients and receive approval before beginning to alter the video digitally.
- Improve video and sound quality using various video software.
- Edit videos to include preselected music, interviews, sound clips, and other important aspects of the project.
- Ensure that videos are saved with the correct formatting per client’s and/or media’s specifications.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in film editing or a related degree is required.
- Professional mastery of video and audio editing software and programs.
- Ability to multitask and work toward several milestones on various projects simultaneously.
- Creative experience in filmmaking and videography.
- Ability to understand the desired outcome of a project when meeting with clients and the ability to bring them to life.
- Experience editing various video projects and inserting sound effects, music, and transitions.
- Proficient in creating concept boards and other visual representations of planned edits for video projects.
- Excellent communication skills are required to have a solid understanding of the project scope and implementation.
- Ability to collaborate well with other creative professionals to supply clients with top-notch finalized products.
